This is a hands-on day shift leadership role within food manufacturing, where you will take ownership of production performance, safety and quality. Through supportive leadership, you will motivate your team to deliver KPIs, manage change and drive continuous improvement in partnership with the Production Manager.
Location: Liverpool

Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 6am-6pm. The role requires flexibility across operational hours from 6am to midnight, with occasional weekend support as business demands.
The role:
- Champion Health & Safety, Quality, Cost control, waste reduction and overall performance across the operational areas
- Take full ownership and accountability for the production area during the allocated shift
- Monitor oil usage and production levels end to end, ensuring business requirements are consistently met
- Plan workflow and labour effectively in line with demand forecasts and agreed budget constraints
- Review individual and team performance, identifying skills gaps and training requirements
- Motivate, support and engage the team to drive efficiencies and positive behaviours
- Strive to achieve and exceed operational KPI targets
- Lead and support change initiatives within the department
- Maintain regular, clear communication with the Production Manager regarding performance, risks and escalations
- Support the communication of downtime incidents and highlight potential business impacts
- Actively support and promote Continuous Improvement activities
- Deputise for the Production Manager as required
About you:
- Proven background within food manufacturing, with exposure to Warehouse and Transport operations
- Demonstrable experience in Production Management
- Experience managing return-to-work processes and supporting disciplinary procedures
- Strong working knowledge of BRC standards and other relevant food safety and compliance audits
- Results driven, with a clear focus on delivery and continuous improvement
- Confident communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly developed influencing skills, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure
- Self-motivated and analytical, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Adaptable and open to change within a fast-paced, continuous improvement environment
- Proficiency in digital systems such as Access, SAP and Excel, with wider systems knowledge preferred
- Solid understanding of supply chain management principles
