Our client, a highly professional and well-established manufacturing company, is seeking a CAD Designer with strong 2D or 3D experience to join their engineering team. This is a varied, hands-on role where you will be responsible for designing bespoke product solutions for manufacture, working closely with customers, suppliers, and internal production teams.

The Role

  • Design custom product solutions using AutoCAD (2D) and 3D CAD software
  • Produce accurate technical drawings and works orders for production and external suppliers
  • Create 3D visuals to support customer proposals and new product development
  • Liaise directly with customers and suppliers to understand requirements and develop design solutions
  • Support incoming customer enquiries and assist with quotations
  • Occasionally visit customer sites to assess requirements
  • Maintain accurate records and deliver a high level of customer service
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to resolve design queries and ensure quality standards
  • Support continuous improvement and product development initiatives
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and ISO9001 quality procedures

  • Confident communicator, comfortable dealing with customers, suppliers, and colleagues

Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of 3D CAD and working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D
  • Understanding of design and engineering principles
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment preferred (but not essential)
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email)
  • Able to produce professional quotations, proposals, and written communication
