JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled roofing team to join our organisation. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in construction and roofing, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. This role involves various tasks related to the installation, repair and maintenance of roofing systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Duties:
- Carry out roofing installations, repairs, and maintenance to required specifications and industry standards.
- Mentor and provide guidance and hands-on support to the labourer during all roofing activities.
- Inspecting and identifying failures to roofs caused by water ingress.
- Resolving minor repair items such as gutter repairs, patch repairs, tile replacements.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, addressing defects or issues promptly.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, other trades, and site management to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Complete all required paperwork, permits, and daily work records, ensuring accurate documentation of all work undertaken, including detailed worksheets outlining tasks performed and materials used after each job.
- Provide updates to Roofing Manager/Project Managers regarding progress, issues, or delays.
- Always maintain safe working practices, including correct use of PPE and fall protection.
- Work collaboratively with other trades and site management to ensure smooth project delivery.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working with Trocal (Sika)
- Full Clean UK Driving Licence
- Ability to read and interpret roofing drawings and specifications
- Ability to lead and instruct a labourer effectively
- Have a positive ‘can do’ attitude
- Solid understanding on the safe use of power and hand tools
- Ability to work from heights and use access equipment safely
- Reliable, organised, and able to manage workloads efficiently
- Great attention to detail.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Confident using handheld IT Equipment - Basic understanding of Excel, Outlook and Word
- Valid CSCS card or equivalent
Desirable Requirements:
- Full industry recognised roofing qualification obtained to NVQ Level 3, or equivalent is desirable.
- First Aid certificate
- Asbestos Awareness certificate
- Working at Height Certificate
- SMSTS or SSSTS certificate
- IPAF - Mobile Vertical (3a), Mobile Boom (3b), Static Boom (1b)
- PASMA - Mobile Access Tower for Users
- UKPIA / SPA Petrol Retail Contractors Safety Passport.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Working Hours:
45 hours per week, you must be flexible with working days/hours, working away, early starts, late finishes and some weekend work.
