We are currently recruiting for a Chef de Partie to join a busy kitchen in Bournemouth. This role would suit someone who lives locally and has experience working in a high-volume catering environment, such as hotels, or large-scale batch cooking kitchens. The focus is on producing consistent, good-quality meals in volume, with structured menus and efficient service for large groups of guests.
The Role
Working alongside the Sous Chef and Head Chef, the Chef de Partie will be responsible for managing a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring food is prepared efficiently and to a consistent standard. The kitchen caters for a large number of guests during set service periods, so strong organisation and the ability to work within structured service times are essential.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking dishes within your section for high-volume service
- Maintaining consistency and quality across all meals produced
- Assisting the Sous Chef and Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Ensuring your section is organised and ready for service
- Supporting junior staff and helping maintain a positive team environment
- Following food safety standards and kitchen hygiene procedures
- Assisting with stock rotation and minimising waste
- Working efficiently to meet service timeframes
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis Chef ready to step up
- Experience in high-volume or hotel catering environments
- Comfortable working with structured menus and batch cooking
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen compliance
- A reliable team player who performs well under pressure
Working Hours
37.5 or 45 hours per week (5 or 6 days). Includes weekends and evenings. Kitchen typically finishes service by 8:30pm.
Package
Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience. Full-time, permanent position. Ongoing training and development opportunities. Stable, year-round employment.
