About Heavy Haulage: Heavy Haulage is a division of K&S Freighters, specialising in the transportation of oversized, over mass freight solutions, special projects, equipment storage, and port logistics. Every project we undertake is managed by our expert project teams, committed to excellence and precision.
The Opportunity: Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Operations Coordinator will support our team in all aspects of oversized and over mass freight. We are seeking an excellent communicator to juggle various tasks on the go and communicate with all drivers and sub-contractors, keeping our operations team and customers up to speed on service delivery. Whether you have experience in over-dimensional loads and statutory requirements or are eager to develop your skills, you'll be supported by our experienced team. Experience with WA Main Roads permits, mapping systems, Western Power escort booking systems, and Fremantle Port booking systems will be highly regarded. Flexibility for after-hours phone calls is essential for this role.
Role Responsibilities:
- Managing and processing transport bookings from clients
- Liaising with operations staff to ensure the optimum utilisation of equipment
- Delegating work to truck drivers and subcontractors
- Monitoring the progress and execution of all jobs
- Respecting and enforcing all statutory requirements and company policies
- Invoicing (company and sub-contractors) and reporting on P&L results and other KPIs
- Consistently adhere to all transport laws, regulations, company policies, and procedures
Previous experience in a similar role or looking for a training opportunity with a keen interest in the transport industry is preferred. An understanding of main road permits and wharf bookings will be highly valued. Strong career focus with an eagerness to learn and develop. High-level communication skills being articulate and confident in your approach. Strong initiative with the ability to adapt to changing situations. Self-motivated, with exceptional organisation and time management skills. Computer literate, possessing quality Microsoft Office skills.
