We are currently recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join an exciting new hospitality business during its growth phase. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working in a start-up environment and wants to play a key role in building and shaping the finance function.
The successful candidate will have a strong background within hotels or hospitality and will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, implementing robust finance processes, and providing commercial insight to support the ongoing growth of the business. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who is comfortable working autonomously, building structure from the ground up, and partnering closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders to drive financial performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Establishing and implementing finance processes, controls and reporting frameworks
- Managing day-to-day financial operations and ensuring accurate reporting
- Producing management accounts, forecasts, budgets and financial analysis
- Supporting business planning and providing commercial insight to senior stakeholders
- Monitoring financial performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Managing month-end processes, reconciliations and financial controls
- Supporting cash flow management and financial planning
- Working closely with operational teams to improve business performance
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance role within hotels.
- Strong understanding of hospitality finance processes and commercial drivers
- Experience implementing and improving finance systems and processes
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide recommendations
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience using finance systems; Xero experience would be highly desirable
