I am recruiting for an experienced and dynamic HR Director for a 12-month maternity contract to lead the Human Resources function for a cluster of branded hotels in Central London, supporting a talented team and maintaining the commitment to exceptional guest and employee experiences. This maternity cover role offers a fantastic opportunity to influence and deliver a people strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic HR leadership to the hotel’s Executive Committee and departmental leaders.
  • Partner with the General Manager to shape and deliver the people plan, ensuring alignment with the brand’s culture, values, and performance objectives.
  • Lead areas of HR including learning & development, employee relations, engagement, and reward.
  • Work with the central resourcing team on all recruitment matters.
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing initiatives across the property.
  • Ensure compliance with UK employment law and brand HR policies.
  • Coach and develop the HR team, ensuring a high standard of service and support to all departments.
  • Drive talent management and succession planning to support the hotel’s long-term growth.

About You

  • Proven experience as a senior HR professional within the hospitality industry, ideally in a hotel environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to balance strategic priorities and day-to-day operational needs.
  • A collaborative and approachable leader who inspires confidence and engagement across all levels.
