Responsibilities
- Migrate all Kafka producers and consumers from Kafka to Confluent Cloud.
- Update Confluent. Kafka . NET client configuration (SASL auth, Schema Registry, bootstrap servers).
- Validate end‑to‑end message flows for applications that act as both producers and consumers.
- Ensure consumer group configurations, offset management, and error handling are correct post‑migration.
- Validate Kafka throughput and perform performance testing.
- Work with . NET engineers to resolve application‑level Kafka integration issues.
Qualifications
- Strong C# / . NET coding ability, including reading and modifying producer/consumer code.
- Proficiency with Confluent. Kafka . NET client library (Producer Builder, Consumer Builder, configuration).
- Experience with Confluent Cloud SASL/PLAIN authentication, Schema Registry, and ACLs.
- Solid understanding of Kafka internals: topics, partitions, consumer groups, offset management, rebalancing.
- Experience with message serialization using Avro & JSON Schema with . NET‑specific serializers/deserializers.
- Ability to troubleshoot Kafka connectivity and message flow issues in . NET applications.
- Knowledge of Kafka monitoring (consumer lag, throughput, error rates).
- Nice to have: experience with applications that are both consumers and producers (event‑driven architectures).
- Experience with schema evolution and compatibility strategies in Schema Registry.
- Experience with performance tuning for . NET producers (batch size, compression).
- Experience with Kafka Connect and Mirror Maker for migration scenarios.
