You've shipped embedded systems. Now build one that protects the UK's power grid. Kry10 builds exceptionally resilient systems for mission-critical devices. We've just been awarded a contract to deliver CNI Guardian β a highly assured network guard protecting the protocols behind the UK's power, gas, and water networks. We've appointed a senior researcher for the security and OT/CNI domain side. Now we need an equally senior software engineer to own the other half: architecture, the embedded build, and real-world delivery.
You'll be the person who makes sure CNI Guardian is well-architected, properly built, tested, deployed, and maintainable β taking it from prototype to a system running on real infrastructure.
What we're looking for:
- 5+ years' software engineering, with a real track record of delivering and maintaining shipped systems
- Substantial embedded development in C and/or Rust
- Strong software architecture β designing systems and defending the decisions
- Networking, protocols, and secure systems experience
- Comfortable with messy, under-specified real-world systems.
Nice to have:
- Experience using AI-assisted tooling to build embedded software
- Industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC-UA, IEC 61850) or OT devices
- Energy-sector or grid experience
- Firewall / inline-processing work.
Why you should apply:
- Your work will protect actual UK Critical National Infrastructure
- It won't disappear behind an NDA β you can publish, speak, and build a public reputation on it
- Deep technical support: OT experts and world-class systems and security people alongside you
- Hands-on OT test lab in Gloucester β real PLCs, real RTUs, real protocols
- Small, fast team in a global startup; decisions in days, not quarters
Start ASAP (ideally by September). Process is a couple of short calls plus an in-depth technical conversation on-site in Gloucester. For further questions or queries please email martin@kry10.com.
