We are on the search for an experienced shift maintenance engineer to work for a well established local manufacturer based near to St Austell.
This role would be ideal for someone who may be unhappy in their current role and would like a fresh start with a dynamic, forward thinking team who are an employer of choice for the area.
This will be working on a day shift and will not involve night or weekend work.
Overtime may be available, paid at time and one half, although this is not guaranteed.
You will play a key role in supporting an efficient production facility, responding to and solving breakdowns, and delivering the company maintenance strategy.

Responsibilities
- To support the operational team with engineering services throughout the Company.
- To respond to engineering emergencies to maintain operations, reducing downtime and lost production.
- Accurate and timely records are entered and recorded on all work carried out, root causes of failures and of spares/consumables used.
- Carry out routine maintenance and planned preventative maintenance.
- Identify and report engineering improvements that will improve efficiency, reduce waste and increase profitability.
- To support engineering projects as and when required.
- Develop and implement procedures to meet the Company’s regulatory responsibilities and legal obligations.
- Check products and materials against the required quality standards to ensure they meet specifications.
- Check and monitor onsite processes, making recommendations for improvements wherever possible.
- To liaise and build relationships with suppliers for the long term benefit of the business.
- Help solve problems and make suggestions for improvements, so that better ways of doing tasks are identified and implemented.
- Communicate and co-operate with other people in order to achieve department and organisational goals.
- Co-ordinate the completion and regular review of engineering documentation for the site, including any compliance documentation that may be required.
- Monitor & review that engineering standards are maintained at all times so that health & safety and hygiene requirements are met in line with Company policies.
- Comply with all health and safety requirements to ensure a safe working environment. Skills & Experience:
- Time served apprenticeship or equivalent
- Recognised engineering qualification - ONC or HNC/HND
- Competent electrical/fault finding and analysis skills
- Methodical and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
