Working with Krotos
Krotos creates audio software and sound‑effects libraries used by film, television, game, and audio professionals worldwide. Our mission is to transform how people design and perform sound by helping creators work faster and produce exceptional results.
We are looking for an experienced Web Development Contractor to support the development, maintenance, and improvement of our web applications, websites, integrations, and e‑commerce systems. This is a hands‑on delivery role suited to someone who can work independently, communicate clearly, and take ownership of agreed projects from technical planning through to deployment and handover.
Scope of the Role
You will work with Krotos stakeholders across product, design, marketing, e‑commerce, and audio engineering. Depending on the project, your work may include:
- Developing Django applications
- Improving customer‑facing websites
- Maintaining integrations
- Supporting e‑commerce systems
- Resolving issues within the existing codebase
Projects and priorities will be agreed in advance, with clearly defined deliverables, timelines, and acceptance criteria.
Responsibilities
- Deliver new features and improvements across Krotos’ web applications
- Maintain and troubleshoot the existing codebase
- Implement approved designs and customer‑facing functionality
- Build and maintain databases, APIs, and third‑party integrations
- Deploy, test, and document changes
- Provide clear estimates, progress updates, and early visibility of risks or blockers
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver agreed project outcomes
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and Django
- Hands‑on experience with the Django REST Framework
- Experience building and deploying solutions on AWS
- Familiarity with frontend technologies, particularly HTMX
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, including PostgreSQL and MySQL
- Experience working with Webflow
- Experience designing or implementing agentic workflows
- Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations
- Experience using Lovable
- Familiarity with React
- Understanding of continuous delivery processes and technologies (e.g., Docker, Jenkins)
- Experience with a Test‑Driven Development approach and unit testing
- Knowledge of PHP, WordPress, and WooCommerce is a plus
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch
- Interest in sound and audio production
Working Arrangements
The contract scope, anticipated time commitment, project duration, milestones, rates, and availability requirements will be agreed before the engagement begins. The contractor will be expected to attend relevant planning or project meetings, provide regular progress updates, and maintain reasonable overlap with the Krotos team’s working hours. All work must be documented and delivered through Krotos‑approved systems and repositories.
