The Business Development (Sales) Representative works as a key member of the Sales & Engineering Team. The primary purpose of the role is the achievement of sales and revenue growth of all products and services. This role is home based with required weekly travel to our Cambridge, ON head office and frequent travel within the GTA and at times throughout Canada and the US. The position requires a self-starter with the desire to learn, grow and succeed.
Pay: $100,000–$120,000 CAD a year
Responsibilities:
- Promote a safe, inclusive and collaborative environment by practicing respect and fairness.
- Prospect for and develop a portfolio of high potential and high value customers.
- Generate profitable revenue growth for the organization through existing and new customers.
- Engage clients to identify opportunities, determine needs, develop solutions and win business.
- Win sales opportunities by engaging mid-size businesses, professional organizations, tradeshows and associations.
- Foster exceptional consultative relationships with key executives and decision makers.
- Develop, build, and manage a sales pipeline using CRM software to document customer interactions and prioritize key actions.
- Create sales plan and present solutions to execute plan.
- Monitor sales, revenue and service performance against plan.
- Identify gaps between sales plan and performance to close business.
- Own the sales process at each stage from quoting, to fulfillment, to follow up.
- Develop strong knowledge of associated industries and trends.
- Perform assigned duties and projects as required.
Quality Control:
- Adhere to standards that are based on the ISO 9001:2008 Quality System.
Health & Safety:
- Participate in the Company’s Health & Safety, Housekeeping and Environmental Programs.
- Demonstrates due diligence regarding Safety at all times.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years inside/outside sales experience required.
- Strong command of the English language, verbal and written required.
- Strong command of Windows based email, document, spreadsheet and presentation software.
- Ability to present and speak in front of groups is required.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is required.
- G driver’s license required.
- Ability to travel to US and valid passport required.
- Post Secondary Education or experience in a technical field is an asset.
- Outside selling experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of aluminum extrusion and its production is an asset.
- Knowledge of general manufacturing principles and terminology is an asset.
- Ability to speak and write in French is an asset.
- Ability to speak and write in Cantonese is an asset.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred).
