The Production Scientist will be responsible for ensuring the scientific integrity of all production testing and calibration processes.

This role is critical to maintaining product quality, compliance with radiation standards, and supporting strategic accreditation goals.

This position is dedicated to production, ensuring robust, repeatable, and automated testing methods.

Responsibilities

  • Testing and Calibration Oversight
  • Maintain and validate test and calibration processes for production systems.
  • Ensure algorithms used in testing are scientifically sound and accurate.
  • Improve and automate production test processes to reduce manual intervention and rework.
  • Product Quality and Compliance
  • Ensure calibration and accuracy meets required standards for radiation equipment.
  • Support type testing and routine conformal testing across product lines.
  • Prepare production processes for external scrutiny
  • Extend improvements across all products.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop and maintain test software for internal and supplier use.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Analyse test data to validate processes and identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Provide clear documentation and reporting for internal teams and external audits.
  • Required Skills and Experience
  • Degree in Physics, or related scientific discipline.
  • Strong understanding of radiation detection principles and calibration standards.
  • Experience with data analysis and algorithm validation.
  • Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams (production, engineering, software).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with accreditation processes.
  • Familiarity with type testing and conformal testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of automated test systems and software integration.
