The Kroll Restructuring practice aims to provide effective solutions to its clients. Our clients include major banks, asset-based lenders, private equity houses, accountants, solicitors, financial sponsors, lenders, creditors, corporates and individuals. We are tasked with assuming direct responsibility for organizations in distressed situations across virtually every industry and every situation.

We are currently seeking an ambitious and qualified candidate with the following attributes to join our Bermuda office as a Senior Manager, Restructuring. You will be involved in a wide range of interesting and challenging deals, often spanning multiple jurisdictions. This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills in insolvency, restructuring and litigation support through exposure to working with lenders, investors, companies and their advisors in distressed and urgent situations.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Take risks and adopt change to solve problems.
  • Possess a drive for success and the ability to influence others within our Restructuring business.
  • High-profile insolvency and restructuring assignments and investigations and complex cross-border matters involving common law jurisdictions.
  • Address liquidation/insolvency matters with complex cross-border elements involving jurisdictions and regions including the US, UK, Europe, the Cayman Islands, BVI, and Hong Kong.
  • Take ownership of the management of engagements such as financial and operational restructuring, official and voluntary liquidations, other formal and informal insolvency and restructuring procedures, valuations, corporate advisory and investigation assignments.
  • Ability to quickly understand and analyse companies’ financial performance.
  • Support participation in legal claims, such as professional negligence and breach of fiduciary duties.
  • Work with senior management of companies, clients, creditors as well as external advisors such as consultants, auditors and lawyers.
  • Draft detailed and complex affidavits, expert reports and other formal documents for Courts and creditors.
  • Manage and mentor junior members of staff.
  • Contribute to development of best practice.
  • Establish and develop relationships with potential and current clients.
  • Take initiative of Kroll's local Business Development initiatives and coordinate events with lawyers, bankers, fund managers and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor WIP, budgets, and matter profitability while ensuring adherence to internal risk management and quality control standards.
  • Work internally with other international offices within the Kroll network.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • An insolvency, accounting, or legal background and a qualification from an internationally recognized institution or professional body.
  • A minimum of 7-8 years’ recent relevant work experience across the required day-to-day responsibilities, including a strong focus on insolvency, restructuring and forensic investigations, with offshore experience a distinct advantage.
  • Driven, displays leadership skills, influences others as well as collaborative problem solver.
  • Possessing risk tolerance and stress tolerance.
  • Good business sense and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to practically apply knowledge to identify issues and solve complex problems.
  • Strong financial, business analytical and report writing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken).
