The primary role of the Infrastructure & Solutions Architect is to be responsible for the strategic design and architecture planning for our global C&DR technical infrastructure. The core of this responsibility will be to ensure the adoption of contemporary and forward-leaning technical design patterns across the business line, fostering efficient and impactful implementations that build shared value and economies of scale across our various go-to-market strategies. A key interface of this role will be to the Kroll's IFS Technology group as the strategic infrastructure SME for C&DR.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Identify technology to be used in the proposed solution. Working with the application developers and third parties as appropriate, they will be responsible for ensuring that a technical design meets the resiliency and scalability the market demands.
  • Support the development of the Technology Strategy and Roadmap for IT Infrastructure.
  • Ensure that all technology selected for the programme conforms to the organization's technical long-term strategy, or that an appropriate level of agreement has been obtained where it does not.
  • Understand and take responsibility for the detailed design of the technology layer of the agreed solution. Architects own the architecture design and documentation of each solution.
  • Advise on capacity planning of the existing IT infrastructure, taking regular feedback from support team for existing issues and advise on technical architecture to overcome issues.
  • Become a central point of understanding of the complete end-to-end technical architecture for the business area concerned.
  • Work on research and development/implementation projects to establish new technical offerings in advance of development project needs.
  • Lead Architecture and design of IT Infrastructure solutions based on requirements from the business making use of existing IT capabilities and services in the company.
  • Work on creating standard Reference Architecture for each technology domain.
  • Provide value add in optimizing Technology for Business to reduce Cost of IT.
  • Alignment of Business processes with Technology wherever needed for deriving better Business results.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

  • Education Qualification - Should be a minimum BS in Computer Science or equivalent field.
  • Total Experience – 10+ years. Relevant Experience – 5+ years.
  • Extensive hands-on technical skills within a cloud native environment (AWS / Azure) designing and implementing market facing platforms.
  • Experience implementing solutions through automation and the DevOps approach.
  • Skills in infrastructure automation (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager) and building platform solutions leveraging the DevOps model.
  • Experience of working within a Service environment and technical teams of IT experts with an understanding of the ITIL framework.
  • Experience working on IT Strategy & IT Consulting engagements is a plus.
  • Should be experienced in operational services, compliance, capacity analysis and vendor management.
  • Experience of being able to highlight issues and solutions within the scope of existing platforms as well as while designing new solutions.
  • Experience of managing outsourced or offshore supplier support groups.

Technical / professional qualifications:

  • A broad understanding of enterprise-class technologies.
  • Ability to interface with Applications Team to understand the application landscape and their interface to different systems in the IT landscape.
  • Should have thorough Hands-On/Consulting/Planning experience (5+) in the following Technology Areas:
  • Platform design
  • Cloud Technologies (AWS & Azure)
  • Automation technologies (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager)
  • Holistic view of IT Infrastructure.
  • The candidate should have expert knowledge in one or two Domains and knowledge and Awareness in other areas as mentioned below:
    • Expert - System Solution Architecture (Three-Tier, HA, Scalability & SOA)
    • Platform Automation (Infrastructure as Code, DevOps)
    • Design of Cloud Platform solutions
    • High Availability / Disaster Recovery
  • Knowledge - Industry trends, best practices.
  • Awareness - Data Migration, Consolidation, Optimization.
  • Business Skills:

    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to translate IT technical language into everyday terms which users can understand, specifically non-technical senior management.
    • Ability to interact with customers to ensure that the service is flexible, efficient, and responsive.
    • To work through issues analytically to a successful conclusion.
    • A track record of delivering services to defined service levels.
    • Experience in collaborating with multi-discipline teams in distributed locations.
    • Experience of working in an operational environment alongside other technical and operational teams, ensuring that all parties collaborate effectively to deliver services.
    • Proven ability to deliver improvements that deliver greater value to the customer and business through more efficient delivery and/or lower costs.
