Overview

The Kroll Restructuring practice aims to provide effective solutions to its clients. Our clients include major banks, asset-based lenders, private equity houses, accountants, solicitors, financial sponsors, lenders, creditors, corporates and individuals. We are tasked with assuming direct responsibility for organizations in distressed situations across virtually every industry and every situation.

We are currently seeking an ambitious and qualified candidate with the following attributes to join our Bermuda office as a Manager, Restructuring. You will be involved in a wide range of interesting and challenging deals, often spanning multiple jurisdictions. This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills in insolvency, restructuring and litigation support through exposure to working with lenders, investors, companies and their advisors in distressed and urgent situations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Hands-on experience in forensic or insolvency engagements such as official court supervised and voluntary liquidations, receivership, restructuring, valuation, contentious litigation; support, asset tracing and forensic accounting investigations;
  • Addressing liquidation/insolvency matters with complex cross-border elements involving jurisdictions and regions including the US, UK, Europe, the Cayman Islands, BVI, and Hong Kong;
  • Day-to-day management of engagements such as financial and operational restructuring, official and voluntary liquidations, other formal and informal insolvency and restructuring procedures, valuations, corporate advisory and investigation assignments;
  • Ability to quickly understand and analyse companies’ financial performance;
  • Support of participation in legal claims, such as professional negligence and breach of fiduciary duties; working with senior management of companies, clients, creditors as well as external advisors such as consultants, auditors and lawyers;
  • Drafting detailed and complex affidavits, expert reports and other formal documents for Courts and creditors;
  • Managing and mentoring junior members of staff;
  • Contributing to development of best practice;
  • Establishing and developing relationships with potential and current clients;
  • Working internally with other international offices within the Kroll network.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field;
  • An insolvency, accounting, or legal background and a qualification from an internationally recognized institution or professional body;
  • A minimum of 5 years of recent relevant work experience across the required day-to-day responsibilities, including a strong focus on insolvency, restructuring and forensic investigations, with offshore experience a distinct advantage;
  • Driven, displays leadership skills, influences others as well as collaborative problem solver;
  • Possessing risk tolerance and stress tolerance;
  • Good business sense and commercial acumen;
  • Ability to practically apply knowledge to identify issues and solve complex problems;
  • Strong financial, business analytical and report writing skills;
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken);
  • Strong people and client management skills.
