Job Overview
At Kroll, a global leader in risk and financial advisory solutions, we need an experienced Tax Manager to help empower sound decision‑making. The role focuses on United Kingdom/European Union income tax law, covering tax research, audits, tax accounting, domestic and global legal entity acquisitions, restructuring, reorganization, and strategic planning. The Tax Manager will manage the tax return process, including disclosures with external providers and other team members.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and file tax returns with external providers and team members.
- Interact with external tax and accounting advisors regarding provisioning and compliance issues.
- Prepare and conduct technical legal reviews of European foreign tax returns.
- Assist in completing worldwide income tax provisions in accordance with US GAAP ASC 740.
- Plan and manage tax impacts of legal entity combinations, including mergers and asset sales.
- Assist with tax account GL analysis, including current and deferred tax, in collaboration with accounting teams and subordinates.
- Assist UK and EU income tax audits, utilizing research tools as needed.
- Research issues across tax law, business operations, global economics, and accounting.
- Manage the UK/EU MDR compliance process.
- Develop and coordinate Sarbanes‑Oxley documentation, departmental policies, procedures, and processes to minimize global tax risks.
- Collaborate regularly with the global tax team for seamless knowledge sharing.
- Manage the EMEA subset of the worldwide tax calendar and coordinate statutory accounts and related disclosures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; a Chartered Accountant, JD, LLB, or Master’s in Taxation is a plus.
- Minimum 6–8 years of tax experience with at least 2 years in public accounting.
- Strong knowledge of income tax provisions and basic tax research.
- Willingness to work in multiple tax regimes beyond primary expertise.
- Proven experience with MS Office, tax research/compliance, and accounting software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Experience writing tax memoranda preferred.
