Our Restructuring professionals serve as financial advisors to companies, financial sponsors, lenders, creditors and other interested parties in distressed situations across virtually every industry and every situation throughout the business life cycle. As a Senior Associate, Restructuring, you will support the team with the day‑to‑day procedures involved in both Restructuring Advisory engagements and formal Insolvency appointments, such as Administrations and Liquidations. With training and support provided by more senior members of the team, the successful candidate will work on a range of assignments assisting distressed businesses, from undertaking financial analysis and supporting the drafting of independent business reviews to working on accelerated M&A processes, asset realisations and investigations and statutory credit reporting, all while liaising with a wide range of stakeholders and ensuring working capital is managed effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Support day‑to‑day procedures for Restructuring Advisory engagements and formal Insolvency appointments (Administrations, Liquidations).
  • Oversee the efficient and timely progression of a portfolio of Restructuring projects.
  • Demonstrate organisation, ownership and proactive management of tasks, meet deadlines and communicate progress.
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and work with senior staff on high‑level decision‑making.
  • On advisory assignments:
    • Assist with financial analysis.
    • Review short‑term cash flow forecasts.
    • Draft independent business reviews.
    • Assist with options analysis for distressed businesses.
  • On formal insolvency assignments:
    • Maximise returns to creditors by investigating companies' affairs and realising assets.
    • Draft information memoranda and assist with business/asset sales.
    • Prepare statutory documentation and correspondence.
    • Manage case administration and statutory compliance.
    • Build and maintain professional relationships with lenders, asset agents and solicitors.
    • Visit clients' premises and liaise with management and employees.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and drive relationships with individuals from all industries.
  • Ability to master new tasks quickly whilst showing strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and work on multiple assignments.
  • Ability to manage rapidly changing assignments and work well under pressure.
  • Strong team player who can work across multiple case teams.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to assess and manage risk, deal with ambiguity and understand the commercial drivers of outcomes.
  • Relevant degree, achieving 2:1 or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years' experience at a top 10 UK accountancy practice or restructuring firm.
  • A relevant accounting qualification is preferred; CPI would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
