We are looking for a reliable and organised Goods-In & Materials Operative to join our growing team. This is a varied hands-on role supporting our Quality, Stores and Production functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving materials and subcontract parts, carrying out goods-in checks, maintaining traceability records, preparing materials for production, and supporting deliveries and collections when required.

The role includes:

  • Goods-In inspection (materials, subcontract parts and documentation)
  • Material traceability and certification checks
  • Forklift driving
  • Material preparation for production (cutting, sawing and deburring)
  • Material storage and stock control
  • Delivery driving and collections
  • General support to Quality, Stores and Production activities

Experience in engineering, manufacturing, stores, goods-in, bench fitting, assembly or inspection would be advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Kristek Precision, established in 1987, are an AS9100 accredited sub-contract CNC Machine shop based in Melksham. We provide production and batch work components to OEMs. We are Quality and People focused, and care about our employees and our customers.

Role Purpose:

  • Perform Goods-In inspections on incoming materials and subcontract components.
  • Verify documentation, certifications and traceability requirements.
  • Prepare and issue raw materials to production.
  • Maintain organised material storage and stock locations.
  • Support the smooth flow of materials through the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive and inspect incoming materials, subcontract work and consumables.
  • Verify delivery documentation against purchase orders and specifications.
  • Check material certifications and maintain traceability records.
  • Book goods into the company MRP system.
  • Label and store materials correctly.
  • Prepare materials for production by cutting, sawing and deburring.
  • Issue materials and components to production departments.
  • Operate forklift trucks and material handling equipment safely.
  • Carry out stock movements and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Support periodic stock counts and audits.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised stores area.
  • Carry out deliveries and collections when required.
  • Assist with continuous improvement activities within the department.
  • Follow company Quality Management System procedures and AS9100 requirements.

Experience Required

Essential:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering, warehouse or stores environment.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills and confidence using business systems.
  • Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Desirable:

  • Goods-In inspection experience.
  • Material traceability and documentation control experience.
  • Forklift licence.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 or AS9100 working practices.
  • Bench fitting or engineering workshop experience.
  • Experience handling engineering materials and stock control processes.
