Our client, a fast-growing B2B iGaming platform provider in Malta, is building the future of Sports Exchange services —and they need top engineering talent to make it happen. About the Role We’re looking for a senior backend developer (language agnostic) with deep knowledge in designing high-performance, distributed systems . You’ll work in a core product team focused on building scalable, event-driven architectures that power millions of transactions across casino, sportsbook, and exchange products. This is a strategic, high-impact role in a team responsible for one of the most technically demanding areas of the platform. Tech Stack (You don’t need them all—expertise in any of these is welcome!) Languages: Go, Node.js, Java, Rust, Ruby on Rails Messaging & Stream Processing: gRPC, RabbitMQ, NATS Jetstream Datastores: Redis, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, MongoDB Cloud & Infra: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines Architecture: Microservices, real-time APIs, event-driven systems ✅ What You’ll Do Architect and develop backend systems for real-time sports exchange services Design high-throughput, low-latency services Work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions Lead code reviews, system design discussions, and performance tuning Mentor other engineers and help define technical best practices
Job requirements
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of backend experience in complex, high-performance systems
Proven expertise in at least one of these backend languages ; Go, Java, Node.js, Rust, RoR
Experience with microservices and event-driven design
Familiarity with message queues and real-time data pipelines
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Proficient in English
