Are you a seasoned backend engineer ready to tackle the complex world of real-time, high-frequency data exchange? Our client, a fast-growing B2B iGaming platform provider in Malta, is building the future of Sports Exchange services — and they need top engineering talent to make it happen.
About the Role
We’re looking for a senior backend developer (language agnostic) with deep knowledge in designing high-performance, distributed systems. You’ll work in a core product team focused on building scalable, event-driven architectures that power millions of transactions across casino, sportsbook, and exchange products. This is a strategic, high-impact role in a team responsible for one of the most technically demanding areas of the platform.
Tech Stack (You don’t need them all—expertise in any of these is welcome!)
- Languages: Go, Node.js, Java, Rust, Ruby on Rails
- Messaging & Stream Processing: gRPC, RabbitMQ, NATS Jetstream
- Datastores: Redis, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
- Cloud & Infra: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines
- Architecture: Microservices, real-time APIs, event-driven systems
What You’ll Do
- Architect and develop backend systems for real-time sports exchange services
- Design high-throughput, low-latency services
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions
- Lead code reviews, system design discussions, and performance tuning
- Mentor other engineers and help define technical best practices
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of backend experience in complex, high-performance systems
- Proven expertise in at least one of these backend languages: Go, Java, Node.js, Rust, RoR
- Experience with microservices and event-driven design
- Familiarity with message queues and real-time data pipelines
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Proficient in English
