My client is looking for an experienced
Flexo Web Machine Operator (Printer / Print Minder) to join our busy manufacturing operation in Huntingdon.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to continuous improvement.
You'll play a key role in producing quality products efficiently, minimising waste, and ensuring machines run safely and at optimum performance.
- Shift Patterns
- Various shift patterns are available depending on production requirements, including:
- Double Day Shift (DDS) - 9-day fortnight
- Early Shift: Monday to Friday, 5:30am - 1:45pm (38.75 hours)
- Late Shift: Monday to Wednesday, 1:45pm - Midnight, Thursday 1:45pm - 11:45pm
- Friday afternoons not normally required
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- 3-Day Week (36 Hours)
- Monday to Wednesday: 6:00am - 6:00pm
- Thursday to Saturday: 6:00am - 6:00pm
- Occasional night shift: Monday to Wednesday, 6:00pm - 6:00am
- Includes a paid 30-minute lunch break and enhanced pay equivalent to a standard 38.75-hour week

Purpose of a Flexographic Printer
- Setting up and operating flexographic web printing machinery to achieve target speeds and OEE.
- Producing high-quality work while minimising waste.
- Following job specifications and approved production samples accurately.
- Identifying machine or material issues and escalating where required.
- Carrying out daily machine maintenance and supporting TPM activities.
- Leading and supporting assistants, feeders, stackers and packers.
- Maintaining high housekeeping and safety standards (5S).
- Following all health and safety procedures, including COSHH, lockout systems and risk assessments.
Requirements for a Flexographic Printer
Ideally you'll have
- 2+ years' experience operating web flexographic printing machines (such as Edale, Windmöller, Koenig, Gallus or Bobst), although this is not essential.
- Experience working with paper or board substrates is desirable.
- The ability to complete efficient, accurate machine make-readies.
- A strong focus on quality, productivity and waste reduction.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes.
- Flexibility to learn new equipment and processes.
- Good communication skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
- A positive attitude and strong team ethic.
- Reliability, trustworthiness and excellent timekeeping.
- The ability to work calmly under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
