We are seeking an experienced Trust professional to join our London Trust & Estate team in a hybrid role (3 days in the office, 2 days working from home). This is a predominantly fee-earning position within one of London’s largest Trust departments, supporting a diverse portfolio of over 600 trusts, estates, small charities, and family office-style arrangements. The role combines trust and estate administration, accounting support, and client service delivery. You will work closely with trustees, beneficiaries, HMRC, solicitors, stockbrokers, and internal teams, contributing to both compliance and day-to-day administration within a collaborative and high-performing environment.
About the role
- Managing the day-to-day administration of a varied portfolio of trusts and estates
- Preparing trust tax returns, annual accounts, and supporting estate accounts and related tax compliance work
- Assisting with inheritance tax reporting and other key tax events
- Maintaining accurate trust records, including cashbooks and financial systems
- Monitoring trust and estate bank accounts, preparing cashflows, and ensuring timely payment of liabilities
- Acting as a key point of contact for trustees, beneficiaries, HMRC, solicitors, banks, and other advisers
- Supporting client onboarding, including account setup, closures, and ongoing record maintenance
- Drafting engagement letters and supporting client communications
- Assisting with billing processes, including fee raising, debtor management, and credit control support
- Monitoring stockbrokers’ online accounts and preparing summaries as necessary
- Assisting with deputyship administration and accounts
- Assisting with maintaining key date registers (e.g., FATCA, CRS, IHT deadlines)
- Participating in debtor reviews and monthly credit control meetings
- Providing general administrative and project support to the wider team as required
What we're looking for
- Exposure to Trust or estate environment
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator with strong written and verbal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a busy environment
- Collaborative, proactive, and supportive team player
- Basic understanding of trust accounting and taxation
- Educated to A-Level or degree level (or equivalent experience)
- Ideally ATT or STEP or part qualified (desirable)
