An opportunity exists to join our Customer Support Team at our Manchester HQ as a Customer Support Service Engineer with frequent travel (~50%) to continental Europe, occasionally further afield. The role would suit a customer facing candidate, comfortable with the operation and maintenance of complex instrumentation and a passion for travel.
A German speaking candidate would be a huge advantage.
Responsibilities
- On customer site installation of upgrades, delivery of warranty work, ad-hoc maintenance and planned preventative maintenance visits
- Testing of repaired units before returning to customers
- Obtaining customer acceptance for all work done
- Providing customer technical support
- Providing appropriate customer training
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives with close interactions with R&D
Qualifications
- Degree level qualification in Electronics*, Physics* or Mechanical Engineering* (*with experience and background in scientific instrumentation preferred)- Essential
Experience
- Knowledge xgikmsk of techniques such as X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy and the ability to demonstrate a background in scientific instrumentation would be a distinct advantage
