The Role and the Department
Following the retirement of the current post holder, Gonville & Caius College is seeking a Deputy Head of Maintenance to support the Head of Maintenance in ensuring the smooth running of the department. The maintenance department handles all types of planned and reactive maintenance across our estate, which includes a variety of buildings from grade one listed structures in Cambridge to purpose-built student accommodation. The team comprises twelve staff supported by contractors as needed. The Deputy Head will cover for the Head of Department during their absence, such as holidays or sickness.
The primary responsibility of the Deputy Head is overseeing health and safety compliance across the department, including our Boathouse, Sportsground, and Gardens. This is a permanent full-time role with 40 hours per week, working flexibly across 5 days out of 7, with occasional weekend work. The annual salary for this role is £38,230.
