Kraken Utilities Our tech platform ‘Kraken’ is already licensed to support 55 million customer accounts globally, and we aim to serve 100 million by 2027. Kraken is the most AI-driven, innovative, forward-thinking platform for energy management. From optimising resources to delivering cost-effective, exceptional customer experiences through advanced Customer Information Systems (CIS), billing, meter data management, CRM, and AI-driven communications. We’re now charging the Kraken platform to other utility industries (Water and Broadband) and have created a new team called - Kraken Utilities. Over the last 3 years we have built this team from scratch to re-architect, design, and develop our Kraken software platform to solve complex industry wide problems within the water and broadband sectors (such as customer experience & water leak detection). The Kraken Utilities team is in a very exciting growth phase, and has already signed six key clients: Severn Trent, Leep, Portsmouth Water, Essential Energy, TalkTalk, and Cuckoo. We are currently 120+ people strong globally.

At Kraken Technologies we’re looking to revolutionise the utilities industry to make basic services like power, water, and the internet cheaper, greener, and better for people around the world. Our Technology Team has grown extremely quickly as a result, tripling in size within the last 18 months. With this rapid growth and the strong backing of our leadership, we are entering an exciting phase of becoming increasingly product-led and value-driven. We operate in a complex enterprise software market with large, high-profile clients. Therefore, we need PMs with a dual mindset: the strategic vision to proactively discover and solve deep industry problems, coupled with the rigorous execution skills required to steer massive, business-critical client migrations onto our platform. We will give you the space to do real product work, while trusting you to deliver on our most vital enterprise commitments. We operate with a high-trust, high-autonomy model. We are looking for a self-starter who thrives when given a complex problem and the freedom to solve it their way, working methodically to ensure projects go from inception to completion. You will act as the glue across multiple teams, putting the customer first and working empathetically to deliver the best possible solutions.

About the team: We’re currently providing licences of our platform to serve the water and broadband industries and have created a new team - Kraken Utilities. Over the last year, we have built this team from scratch to re-architect, design, and develop our Kraken software platform to solve complex industry-wide problems within these sectors (such as transforming customer experience & water leak detection software). The Kraken Utilities team is in a very exciting growth phase. We are currently 100+ people (engineers, product, implementation, design, strategy) supported by the 1500+ people in the wider Kraken world. This role will join as a Product Manager focused specifically on the water industry—working in a tight-knit team and collaborating closely with our engineering, implementation, and strategy groups.

What you’ll do:

  • Proactive Discovery: Act as a product-led PM. You won't just manage a backlog; you will proactively drive discovery, identify underlying customer problems, and figure out how to scale and grow your products to deliver massive value.
  • Rigorous Delivery & Migrations: Balance your product vision with the realities of enterprise software. You will help steer significant migrations onto the Kraken platform, ensuring high-stakes, highly complex projects are delivered methodically and successfully for our clients.
  • End-to-End Autonomy: You will be handed high-level business goals, not step-by-step instructions. You are expected to autonomously navigate ambiguity, prioritise your team's work, and drive solutions from initial inception to a successful rollout.
  • Data-Driven Impact: Leverage data rigorously to spot new product opportunities and actively measure the impact of what your team delivers. You ensure we are building for measurable outcomes, not just shipping features.
  • Embrace New Technologies: You naturally integrate modern tools (including AI) to accelerate your work and explore how new technologies can enhance our product.
  • Support the Frontline: Partner with customer teams working on front-line support to quickly triage operational issues, using these insights to continuously improve the platform.

What you’ll have:

  • The Enterprise/Product Balance: A proven track record in B2B product management (ideally enterprise software). You understand the delicate balance between pushing a visionary product roadmap and delivering on critical, heavy-lift client commitments. (While we anticipate this usually takes 3 to 5 years of experience, we care far more about your actual impact, high agency, and capability than a strict number of years on your CV).
  • Structured Thinking: Attention to detail and thinking in systems, both are vital for managing complex, high-volume, business-critical products and large-scale migrations in a dynamic environment.
  • Strategic Prioritisation: A history of confidently managing competing demands. You recognise what needs to be done immediately to achieve our goals and have the autonomy to say "no" to distractions.
  • Tenacity and a "Just Do It" Attitude: You don't give up at the first hurdle. You are willing to dive deep, get your hands dirty, and push through blockers and failures to deliver real impact. For example, if a complex issue arises, you familiarise with the relevant domain, find a way to collect associated data, troubleshoot, and liaise with relevant parties throughout.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to interact seamlessly with people of varying technical backgrounds. You are a great listener who can spot and harness fantastic ideas from anywhere inside and outside of the business. You understand that leveraging AI and scaling complex systems for large enterprises increases the need for exceptional, structured documentation to guide engineering and ensure system integrity.
  • Industry experience: Previous experience in the water industry or other utilities is a bonus, but not a requirement.
