What you'll do
- Lead and continuously improve Kraken's privacy program to meet global privacy and dataâsecurity obligations, adopting modern ways of working and stateâofâtheâart technologies to support rapid growth.
- Drive privacy by design for products and services to align with corporate goals, legal obligations, and bestâinâclass privacy procedures.
- Serve as the primary privacy liaison, partnering with Senior Management, Legal, Security, and Product & Engineering teams to embed best practices and uphold compliance.
- Work with thirdâparty vendors to ensure existing and new services comply with privacy and dataâsecurity obligations.
- Collaborate with the legal team and key departments to maintain appropriate privacy processes and documentation for dataâcontroller and dataâprocessor obligations.
- Understand evolving data privacy obligations across territories, provide advice to teams, and manage roadmaps for future privacy priorities.
- Lead the development and deployment of global privacy training programs covering regulations, industry best practices, and internal policies.
- Lead the response to dataâprivacy incidents, investigations, and reporting to supervisory authorities or clients when necessary.
- Regularly update key stakeholders about the state of privacy, emerging risks, and mitigation strategies.
What you'll have
- Proven leadership experience in privacy and data protection with relevant domain expertise.
- Experience defining and evolving dataâprotection and privacy processes, mentoring teams, and handling complex or sensitive interactions.
- Strategic vision, execution presence, and experience building teams and processes.
- Senior privacy leadership experience within a tech organization that acts as a data processor (e.g., SaaS provider or software vendor).
- Experience leading dataâprotection programs, impact assessments, thirdâparty vendor management, transfer assessments, and reviewing processing agreements.
- Experience working with product and engineering teams, influencing and prioritising privacy objectives during product development.
- Working knowledge of artificial intelligence technologies, their use cases, associated risks, and responsible adoption.
- Ability to influence the organization and instil privacy across teams, products, and services.
- Law degree or relevant legal experience.
