Help us use technology to make a big green dent in the universe! Kraken powers some of the most innovative global developments in energy. We’re a technology company focused on creating a smart, sustainable energy system. From optimising renewable generation, creating a more intelligent grid, and enabling utilities to provide excellent customer experiences, our operating system for energy is transforming the industry around the world in a way that benefits everyone. It’s a really exciting time in energy. Help us make a real impact on shaping a better, more sustainable future.
About the team
The Kraken platform is licensed to support 55 million customer accounts globally, and we aim to serve 100 million by 2027. It is the most AI‑driven, innovative platform for energy management, providing advanced CIS, billing, meter data management, CRM, and AI‑driven communications. Our Kraken Utilities team has signed key clients including Severn Trent, Lee‑p, Portsmouth Water, Essential Energy, TalkTalk, and Cuckoo, and is 120+ people strong worldwide. This role will join as a Product Manager focused specifically on the water industry—working in a tight‑knit team with engineering, implementation, and strategy groups.
What you'll do
- Proactive Discovery: Act as a product‑led PM. You won’t just manage a backlog; you will proactively drive discovery, identify underlying customer problems, and figure out how to scale and grow your products to deliver massive value.
- Rigorous Delivery & Migrations: Balance your product vision with the realities of enterprise software and steer significant migrations onto the Kraken platform, ensuring high‑stakes, highly complex projects are delivered methodically and successfully for our clients.
- End‑to‑End Autonomy: You will be handed high‑level business goals, not step‑by‑step instructions. Navigate ambiguity, prioritise your team’s work, and drive solutions from initial inception to a successful rollout.
- Data‑Driven Impact: Leverage data rigorously to spot new product opportunities and actively measure the impact of what your team delivers, building for measurable outcomes rather than just shipping features.
- Embrace New Technologies: Naturally integrate modern tools (including AI) to accelerate your work and explore how new technologies can enhance our product.
- Support the Frontline: Partner with customer teams working on front‑line support to quickly triage operational issues, using these insights to continuously improve the platform.
What you'll have
- The Enterprise/Product Balance: A proven track record in B2B product management (ideally enterprise software) and the ability to balance visionary roadmaps with critical client commitments.
- Structured Thinking: Attention to detail and system thinking to manage complex, high‑volume products and large‑scale migrations.
- Strategic Prioritisation: Confidence in managing competing demands and autonomy to say “no” to distractions.
- Tenacity and a "Just Do It" Attitude: Persistence, willingness to dive deep, confront blockers, and deliver real impact.
- Excellent Communication: Strong written and verbal skills, ability to interact with people of varying technical backgrounds, and the capacity to produce clear, structured documentation.
- Industry Experience: Previous experience in the water industry or other utilities is a bonus.
