An experienced M&E Service Technician opportunity is available. My client delivers complete, end-to-end treatment systems for wastewater and trade effluent customers across industrial, municipal, commercial and residential applications. They specialise in the design, supply, hire and integration of proven technologies including submerged aerated filters (SAF), lamella settlement tanks, tertiary solids removal systems and tailored modular packages. From urgent temporary deployments to full turnkey permanent installations, their team ensures technical precision, seamless delivery and long-term compliance.

The Multi-Skilled Engineer will support the delivery of wastewater treatment projects across the UK. The role requires a qualified and experienced engineer with strong mechanical and electrical capability, who is comfortable working hands-on as well as supervising site teams. Regular travel and staying away from home will be required.

Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the delivery of wastewater projects across the UK.
  • Undertaking and supervising mechanical and electrical installation, commissioning and maintenance works.
  • Leading and coordinating site teams, subcontractors and contract labour.
  • Ensuring works are completed safely, to programme and in line with quality standards.
  • Preparing and implementing RAMS and delivering toolbox talks.
  • Managing site activities in accordance with NEC contract requirements.
  • Attending client sites to install, maintain and commission wastewater treatment equipment.
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Identifying site requirements and assisting with hire orders and equipment mobilisation.
  • Supporting procurement, estimating and stock management activities.
  • Assisting with outline electrical design and technical scope development.
  • Planning and programming site works to meet agreed milestones.
  • Liaising with clients regarding delivery dates and site progress.
  • Maintaining accurate site records, dayworks and photographic evidence.
  • Contributing to project reports, value engineering and cost control initiatives.
Requirements:
  • 18th Edition qualification.
  • SMSTS / SSSTS / CSCS.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home as required.
  • Qualified in a Mechanical or Electrical engineering discipline (NVQ/BTEC or equivalent).
  • Proven experience within the UK wastewater industry.
  • Competent in both mechanical and electrical installation and fault finding.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to supervise and lead site teams.
  • Experience working with contractors in a Design & Build environment.
  • Good understanding of UK water industry standards and specifications.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
