The Engineering Stores Stock Controller works as part of the Engineering Stores team, providing an efficient stores service to the Telford site by receiving, issuing, checking, and controlling engineering parts and materials. The role is responsible for inventory accuracy and stock checks, managing returns and service repairs, ensuring parts are quality‑checked and contamination‑free before restocking, and using SAP to support strong inventory control. The role also supports Job In Box (JIB) material collation, contributes to department KPIs, maintains good housekeeping standards, and participates in continuous improvement/WCM activities to improve service and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of stores inventory including booking in and returns
- Management of service repairs
- Quality check parts before restocking, ensuring parts are not defective and free of contamination
- Carry out daily stock checks of fast moving parts
- Carry out monthly stock checks
- Collate materials for Job In Box (JIB) execution
- Interrogation and management of SAP system for inventory control
- Willing to embrace WCM techniques and drive continuous improvement activity
- Support all department KPI’s
- Support housekeeping within stores
Expected Experience and Required Skills
- Good communication and written skills to ensure quality handovers
- Good interpersonal skills and 'Can do' attitude to develop customer service levels
- Good numeracy and system skills, SAP experience and PC skills beneficial
- Must be flexible and possess the ability to work in teams
- Committed to the support of proactive management of all departments KPI’s
- A motivated individual, with good accountability and ownership
The Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have a degree (or equivalent) in Engineering. A strong problem solver; they'll have an analytical approach and make timely, effective decisions. Previous experience with SAP and MS Office is desirable, but above all else, we value a passion for manufacturing excellence.
