Reporting into the Head of EHS, the position is responsible for providing an Occupational Health service which focuses on the physical and mental wellbeing of employees in the workplace. The aim of this role is to prevent work-related illness and injury by monitoring the health of the workforce, supporting the management of sickness and rehabilitating employees back into the working environment.

In addition, ensure that all legal and mandatory compliance is adhered to regarding health surveillance, management of return-to-work plans, risk assessments and record keeping of highly sensitive medical information. As an autonomous practitioner, you will manage your own work as a specialist within Occupational Health and Wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support peers in the Review, Audit and Development of SLAs with our incumbent Infrastructure and Services.
  • Be accountable for the delivery of Occupational Health Service provision at Kraft Heinz.
  • Design and implement effective and sustained health surveillance programmes in line with HSE guidelines and COSHH / NEBOSH standards.
  • Ensure legal compliance in regard to health surveillance, management of return to work plans including health-related work-based risk assessments, compliant record keeping and medical data confidentiality.
  • Monitor compliance to the health surveillance cycle and report status monthly to senior management.
  • Develop and maintain all clinical policies and protocols in line with changes with guidance and legislation.
  • Effectively conduct fitness for work health assessments with new starters or provide a response to line manager referrals regarding work and health adjustments needed.
  • Provide full remit of Occupational Health, working collaboratively with Health and Safety, Human Resources, Operations Management, Employees and Union.
  • Collate, analyse and report on current absence trends and engage in problem-solving strategies with senior managers and HR.
  • Provide specialist advice to line managers and HR during periods of ill health or sickness absence along with detailed medical reports summarising recommendations in accordance with best practice and the Equality Act.
  • Advise relevant stakeholders of any identified issues in relation to potential or identified hazardous areas of work.
  • Attend weekly absence meetings, providing an overview of OH activities and updates on absence cases.
  • Deliver presentations / training sessions to promote health and wellbeing.
  • Lead on all clinical audits to ensure the organisation exceeds the commitment to HSE legislation.
  • Analyse data from audit findings and compile reports.
  • Provide clinical advice to support other sites where required.
  • Ensure all staff working within the department are competent in all aspects of their practice and strive for clinical excellence.
  • Coordinate the First Aid Provision at Kraft Heinz.
Expected Experience And Required Skills:
  • NMC Level One registration.
  • Relevant OH Degree and specialist practitioner on part 3 NMC.
  • Previous OH Management experience (5 Years).
  • Experience of exposure to general management issues in OH service delivery including policy development.
  • Experience of delivering risk-based proactive OH services.
  • Excellent, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possesses the ability to work under time pressures to prioritise workload.
  • Able to organise workload effectively and efficiently.
