Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate commitment to health and safety.
- Effective 2‑way communication of health and safety, e.g., at Tier 1, Safety Habit discussions, Safety Habit Observations, Risk Triggers including dynamic risk assessments.
- Knowledge of site hazards and controls, and compliance to permit process ensuring team are competent for activities and compliant to site Ways of Working.
- Responsible for food safety and product quality as defined by regulatory, Kraft Heinz and local procedures. It is the jobholder’s responsibility to elevate any issues that might compromise food safety and product quality.
- Leadership during emergency situations.
- To deputise within control loops for the Engineering Leader, when required.
- Carry out planned and preventative maintenance using either Electrical / Mechanical / Control System / Automation skill set.
- To diagnose faults and to test, repair and maintain Mechanical / Electrical equipment.
- Support site Reliability agenda: Identification of failure modes and trends, complete root cause analysis (RCA) processes and drive / deliver the agreed actions, define and improve maintenance strategy for assets.
- Ensure required spares are defined for each asset with correct specifications and adequate quantities.
- Ensure asset BOMs are correctly set up in SAP.
- Identify life cycle issues and raise these with possible recommendations.
- Proactive fault prevention and continuous improvement activity to deliver key maintenance KPIs.
- Provide support to and involvement in site Project and Change Initiatives as appropriate.
- Generate shift report.
- Report all maintenance tasks on SAP system as required and to the correct standard.
- Support the planning, critical information collection, organising and execution of works.
- Practice KHMS requirements and implement according to the standard.
- Support the shift engineering team.
- Ensuring close liaison with support departments to maximise quality and performance including planning and execution of all maintenance tasks throughout the week.
- Liaise and manage OEMs / Suppliers and Contractors as required.
- Ability to deliver on the job training (knowledge transfer) to new / existing colleagues and apprentices.
- Actively participate in tier meetings and execution of the daily / weekly plan.
- Accountable for assessing all corrective notifications in a timely manner for area of responsibility, ensuring the JIB (job in a box) process is followed and all parts are correct.
- Support the scheduling of maintenance work for the next week during the Weekly Planning Meeting.
- Support the overhaul / EEM process for area of responsibility.
- Lead and support the RCA of Breakdowns and the implementation of corrective actions to prevent re‑occurrence when escalated.
- Create SOP’s/SMP’s/OPL’s and train and sign off line team in maintenance activities.
- Deliver innovation and continuous improvement to reduce downtime caused by maintenance and equipment failures.
- Ensure maintenance schedules are updated with learnings from equipment failures to minimise unplanned plant downtime.
- Ensure that SAP is being used effectively to develop a planned maintenance strategy. Support the development of the system within the engineering function.
- Support the weekend maintenance and aligned engineers to ensure available hours of the engineers is utilised to its full extent.
- Ensure effective handover is completed to key stakeholders following completion of any maintenance works (QRMP) and Completion of the Weekend Maintenance plan.
- Attend and participate in handover meetings to ensure effective handover of information.
- Raise or approve required permits on shift for specific job tasks.
- Provide technical support following escalation from craft on shift.

- Recognised Engineering qualification is essential; HNC/HND/degree desirable.

- A methodical approach to fault finding to diagnose and repair faults on automation/electrical or mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems in a timely manner.
- Some knowledge TPM/Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
- Competent on MS Office software.
- Siemens S5/S7 experience desirable but not essential (for Electrical bias).
