KR Recruitment is delighted to recruiting this Controller role for a leading global Real Estate / Infrastructure group.

In this role you will be working with the UK Operation in London (team of 5/6) and report into the Head of Office for the UK.

The Role

  • In this role, you will manage the day to day activities of our mid-tier holding and financing companies for Infrastructure and Real Estate investments and to perform specific/oversight activities for overseas companies
  • Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Act as the financial expert for a portfolio of entities tied to our funds.
  • Preparation and/or review of quarterly bookkeeping, management accounts, annual budgets, and semi-annual / annual financial statements (whether consolidated or not, both UK GAAP and IFRS) for a variety of Holdcos and Propcos;
  • Preparation of quarterly/yearly US Tax/FED reporting packages which adhere to relevant external and internal requirements;
  • Management of annual audits (when relevant), responsible for the accounting, reporting, cash management, tax reporting and compliance and for meeting all statutory deadlines for the entities assigned;
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of the reporting prepared by external service providers;
  • Responsible for financial covenant testing, reporting and other critical loan terms and conditions;
  • Responsible for and actively involved in monitoring investment and financing cashflows and other cashflow forecasts;
  • Collaborate with the wider teams, tax and legal advisors and compliance on current and future investments held and provide support in investment transactions such as acquisitions, exits, refinance operations and restructurings;
  • Build relationships, liaise with internal and external parties such as auditors, tax advisors and stakeholders of the Infrastructure and Real Estate funds;
  • Support, and present during board meetings to, the board members in making data driven decisions;
  • Assist the Manager of the Team with any ad-hoc requests.
  • The candidate
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, controlling, business administration and/or finance.
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA/ICAS) although partially qualified still considered if exceptional.
  • A natural curiosity about private credit, equity, real estate and other fund structures.
  • Experience between 3-5 years in a similar organization in the PE / AM / PFI / Infrastructure sector, at a medium audit firm or at a Trust service company;
  • Affinity with legal transactions / documents;
  • Experience with UK GAAP, IFRS and consolidation of financial statements under both reporting standards;
  • Ability to prioritize multiple workstreams within tight deadlines;
  • Able to work in a team as well as autonomously;
  • Proactive, reliable, resilient, with critical thinking with positive outlook;
  • Able to build and maintain excellent relationships with third parties;
  • Highly organized, possesses exceptional communication skills and the ability to take ownership and accountability;
  • Computer literate with advanced Excel skills
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
