Role Description
We are looking for a Semi‑Senior Accountant to join our team full‑time on‑site at our Leek office. This role involves preparing and filing company accounts, ensuring VAT return and Making Tax Digital compliance, processing payroll, managing bookkeeping tasks, preparing tax returns, and supporting clients with tax planning and business advice. You will collaborate closely with team members and clients, utilizing cloud‑based accounting software to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all financial processes.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and experience in accounting functions such as company accounts preparation, VAT returns, bookkeeping, and payroll processing.
- Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
- Skills in tax planning, self‑assessment tax returns, and providing advice for business startups and growing enterprises.
- Attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work independently within an on‑site team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effectively supporting clients and team collaboration.
- Relevant qualifications such as AAT, part ACA/ACCA qualified, or equivalent accounting certification.
- Familiarity with compliance requirements, including Making Tax Digital (MTD), is a plus.
