We are currently recruiting for a Quality Technician to join a manufacturing business based in Manchester. This is a key role within the technical function, supporting the delivery of high-quality products that meet both industry and customer standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for quality inspection, assurance, and documentation across manufacturing and subcontract processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out final inspection of finished parts and assemblies
  • Conduct in-process inspections, including subcontracted work
  • Analyse and interpret inspection data to generate certification documentation
  • Complete QA documentation such as quality control plans, inspection plans, and test reports
  • Liaise with Production, Customer Services, Commercial, and Technical teams
  • Prepare and manage First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) for aerospace-related work
  • Work in accordance with ISO9001, AS9100D, and AS9102 (FAI) standards
  • Investigate failed inspections, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective actions
  • Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models accurately
  • Use inspection equipment including CMMs, digital calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators
Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a Quality Technician / Quality Inspection role
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and aerospace quality standards (AS9100D / AS9102)
  • Experience producing or supporting FAIR documentation
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical data
  • Confident using inspection and measurement equipment
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply data
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
