We are currently recruiting for a Quality Technician to join a manufacturing business based in Manchester. This is a key role within the technical function, supporting the delivery of high-quality products that meet both industry and customer standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for quality inspection, assurance, and documentation across manufacturing and subcontract processes.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out final inspection of finished parts and assemblies
- Conduct in-process inspections, including subcontracted work
- Analyse and interpret inspection data to generate certification documentation
- Complete QA documentation such as quality control plans, inspection plans, and test reports
- Liaise with Production, Customer Services, Commercial, and Technical teams
- Prepare and manage First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) for aerospace-related work
- Work in accordance with ISO9001, AS9100D, and AS9102 (FAI) standards
- Investigate failed inspections, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective actions
- Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models accurately
- Use inspection equipment including CMMs, digital calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators
- Previous experience in a Quality Technician / Quality Inspection role
- Knowledge of ISO9001 and aerospace quality standards (AS9100D / AS9102)
- Experience producing or supporting FAIR documentation
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical data
- Confident using inspection and measurement equipment
- Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply data
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Reliable, thorough, and able to manage high workloads
- Able to handle QA-related challenges and internal pressures professionally
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
