About this team
The Global Insurance Management Team ("GIMT") is responsible for the management, oversight and coordination of KPMG's Global Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) and First Party Cyber Insurance Programs providing business critical insurance to approximately 145 member firms within the KPMG network. The GIMT acts as a principal point of contact between insurers/brokers and KPMG Member Firms, providing guidance to KPMG Member Firms on matters pertaining to the Global PII and Cyber insurance programs and is involved in the development and procurement of other insurance placements for KPMG International.
Role summary
KPMG is currently seeking a Senior Insurance Manager to join our Global Insurance Management Team ("GIMT") experienced in the field of financial lines insurance particularly Professional Indemnity Insurance ("PII") and Cyber Insurance. The individual will work closely with other GIMT team members and be responsible for providing technical insurance support in respect of KPMG's Global PII and Cyber Insurance Programs and in support of ongoing business change initiatives. The individual will interface directly with a range of internal and external stakeholders including KPMGI Senior Leadership, KPMG Member Firm Senior Partners, Risk Management Partners, General Counsels, insurers (including captive insurers) and brokers.
The role will focus on providing technical support and guidance relating to all aspects of insurance program management including program design and implementation, policy wording reviews, coverage analysis, insurance support for business change initiatives and issues associated with global insurance programs including insurance regulatory compliance. There will also be opportunities to get involved in other classes of financial lines insurance including Directors & Officers insurance and experience in this field would be advantageous. The individual must be a clear communicator with the ability to present confidently to senior stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities
- Technical insurance support in respect of KPMG's Global PII and Cyber Insurance Programs and ongoing business change initiatives.
- Involvement in other classes of insurance including D&O insurance.
Experience / Knowledge / Qualifications
- Experience in the insurance sector at a senior level ideally as the insurance manager of a professional services organisation or in a senior position at an insurer (underwriting/claims) or insurance broker (senior client advisory).
- A legal background would be advantageous.
- Demonstrable understanding of legal concepts relevant to professional indemnity and cyber insurance.
- Demonstrable understanding of professional indemnity and cyber insurance as products and the associated technical issues, for example, interpretation of complex policy documentation, coverage issues, insurance program design and insurance regulatory compliance.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to explain complex technical insurance matters in a clear and concise manner to a wide audience (including senior stakeholders).
- Ability to work in a demanding environment where priorities can change quickly and the ability to prioritise conflicting demands.
- Experience of managing complex international insurance programs and working with captive insurers would be highly advantageous.
- Further education to degree level and professional qualifications from recognised industry association (Chartered Insurance Institute, Institute of Risk Management etc.).
