Job description The team KPMG\’s Major Projects Advisory (MPA) team works with industry-leading organisations, helping to solve some of the biggest challenges in infrastructure. We focus on providing clarity to Boards, Executives, and SROs at major public and private sector organisations regarding project and programme delivery. The role We are seeking an innovative professional at Assistant Manager level, experienced in planning, scheduling, and project controls within construction, to work alongside our existing team. We value diversity and tailor our team to meet varied needs. This client-facing role places you at the forefront of project delivery, ideally with experience in infrastructure projects, though candidates from other relevant fields are welcome. You will apply your expertise daily to develop tailored solutions for clients and manage key relationships. The UK-based MPA team operates from London, Birmingham, and Manchester, with travel across the UK and occasionally overseas required. The team member Ideal candidates will have post-qualification experience in planning, scheduling, and project controls from major projects or programmes, whether as contractors, consultants, or within government roles. Your track record should demonstrate: Strong understanding of planning, schedule management, risk management, change control, and process improvement Experience in infrastructure projects within sectors like transport, defence, power, utilities, or nuclear Skills in investigating schedule and cost performance, variance analysis, and mitigation strategies Development of tools and reports supporting project controls Risk analysis and project performance monitoring Excellent problem-solving, relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills A willingness to learn and develop within planning and project controls Proficiency in Excel, MS Project, and Oracle P6 Additional advantageous experience includes: Public sector projects Delay analysis and scenario planning Dispute resolution or expert witness work Advisory services like organizational design and governance Performance improvement and project review expertise Relevant professional certifications (e.g., APM PMQ, MSP, PRINCE2) Daily responsibilities include: Collaborating within multidisciplinary teams Managing client work and designing user-focused processes and tools Advising clients on planning strategies and scenario impacts Staying updated on technical developments and contributing to thought leadership Identifying collaboration opportunities within KPMG\’s service offerings Coaching colleagues and embodying company values #J-18808-Ljbffr
