Base Location: Watford / Birmingham (with intermittent travel to other UK offices including Canary Wharf).
The KPMG Business Services function is a cornerstone of our UK business. Operating from 20 UK locations and sitting with KPMG Central Services, we do work that matters. Within Central Services, we are part of a community of experts across a wide range of critical activities who help grow, run, and protect KPMG in the UK.
As a Senior Compliance Officer in the Right to Work team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the firm’s compliance with UK immigration legislation and Home Office requirements. You’ll be part of a collaborative, customer-focused team that underpins our people strategy and enables our colleagues to focus on delivering exceptional client service.
What will you be doing?
- Reviewing and validating Right to Work checks for prospective and current employees.
- Partnering with the Immigration team to support visa applications and ensure compliance.
- Managing a high volume of queries related to Right to Work and internal visa processes.
- Maintaining accurate HR records in line with GDPR and immigration legislation.
- Building strong relationships with Recruitment, HR Business Partners, and other stakeholders.
- Staying up to date with changes in legislation and internal policies.
- Assessing risk and escalating complex cases appropriately.
- Supporting the team in meeting and exceeding service level agreements (SLAs).
What will you need to do it?
- Awareness of UK Right to Work legislation and employer responsibilities.
- Experience in a compliance or regulatory role, ideally within a professional services environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
- Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, client-centric environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HR systems such as SAP.
We are open to talk to talent across the country but our core Central Service hubs for this role are: Watford, Birmingham. With 20 sites across the UK, we can potentially facilitate office work, working from home, flexible hours, and part-time options.
