Base Location: London CSQ plus network of 20 offices nationally:
People Consulting Overview:
People Consulting is an integral part of KPMG’s Management Consultancy practice and a growing part of our business. This team help to transform the performance of organisations by changing the way people are led, managed, and developed. We do this by focusing on two key areas – delivering the people agenda on large scale, complex, change programmes and transforming the HR function by technology.
We have four key capabilities:
- HR Transformation
- Learning solutions
- Organisational Transformation
- Workforce Transformation
Summary of the Role and Purpose
We help financial services organisations – Banks, Insurance companies, FMIs, Wealth and Asset managers, and Fintechs – to change and adapt to the environment in which they operate. Changes may be driven by decisions to digitise, to streamline, to pivot, to respond to new regulation or to harness the benefits of analytics or new technology. Or they may be driven by acquisition or disposal. Whatever the reason, our clients are continually re-designing parts of the organisation, and that’s where we come in.
Description of the role
We are looking for experienced consultants who can manage a variety of workstreams on complex, business critical programmes. It is highly likely you will have deeper expertise in one of our four capabilities; however you will be expected to work across a variety of projects and programmes. You will be required to:
- Support our Partners and Directors on our approach for a particular client and then to manage delivery of this work
- Support business development and grow revenues from the existing work portfolio
- Use leading practice problem-solving methodologies to address client issues and structure projects
- Work and collaborate with colleagues from other service lines such as technology, finance, customer, or analytics
- Deliver high quality analysis that combines KPMG expertise and market insight with quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Act as a client interface, providing effective, credible, and timely communications with clients
- Help generate thought leadership, improve knowledge sharing and develop consulting skills within our team
- Develop the team culture, inspiring and empowering team members and supporting their career development
Skills, qualifications, and experience
We expect the successful applicant to have the following technical skills:
- Strong expertise in HR Transformation, Learning solutions, Organisational Transformation, or Workforce Transformation
- Experience of the core techniques of leadership alignment, case for change, stakeholder identification and management, sequencing for the change programme, communication and engagement, impact assessment, and planning people transition. In the area of technology implementation, we would expect experience of user adoption approaches including training and awareness.
- The strongest candidates will have experience across all our capabilities, but we would also consider a deeper specialism in just one area
- We are looking for candidates who understand the financial services environment and have undertaken consulting projects in one or more of the sub-sectors mentioned above
- As this role is a Manager role, you will be expected lead and manage other more junior consultants. It is anticipated candidates will have experience in consulting, ideally with a recognised professional services firm, or global consultancy. In-house consulting experience is also valued
- Candidates will need to have the personal skills to influence, communicate with and work with senior clients that could be at C-Suite or just below. They will need to have strong writing skills, be good at PowerPoint, confident with excel, and comfortable working face to face and through Teams
- We value a collaborative mindset. Everyone at KPMG is talented and ambitious, but we are a close-knit team that wins together, and we value people who will share knowledge and support colleagues
- Above all, we are looking for people with a powerful sense of curiosity – we want people who are interested in their clients, care about their business, are motivated to research and understand them, and are prepared to work hard to make them a success. And we want people who are curious about our discipline – the management of the workforce – and who continually updating themselves, researching the latest trends, and sharing these insights with colleagues and clients
