We are seeking a skilled and experienced, client facing, Cyber Security Engineer with a strong focus on cloud security to join our security team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in securing multi-cloud environments, embedding in client teams to deliver robust protection across platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
This role requires hands-on technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate across engineering, DevOps, and security teams to embed security principles into cloud-native architectures, with a working knowledge of Secure Architecture concepts.

We are looking for a manager who possesses high quality consulting skills and a record of delivering outstanding results when leading complex consulting projects focused on delivering hands on security engineering engagements and to support KPMG’s growth in this market.
What will you be doing?
- Support projects, or workstreams within a larger programme, consulting with Partners, Directors and Senior Managers where appropriate.
- Plan and shape the delivery of engagements, including work plans, timelines, project management and resource allocations.
- Provide input on security operations capabilities and services.
- Build and manage relationships with clients on a daily basis.
What will you need to do it?
- Technical background, willingness to learn, and experience within an operationally focused engineering function.
- Experience bringing a technology perspective to a broad range of client issues, demonstrating how technology can be used to address problems and realise opportunities.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking and architecture principles, Identity and access management models, security monitoring and SIEM integration.
- Proven hands-on experience of at least two cloud environments including: AWS, Microsoft Azure, VMware Cloud Foundation, Google Cloud.
- Experience securing multi-cloud or hybrid environments, including greenfield and legacy platforms.
- Due to the nature of the work, it is essential for applicants to be eligible for Security Clearance.
Skills we’d love to see/Amazing Extras:
- Managing teams, including the ability to structure complex projects.
- Clear record of achievement and progression in a consulting firm or in a comparable environment within industry.
- Relevant cybersecurity certifications.
- Consulting experience within a ‘Big 4’ consultancy, or mid-tier firm.
- Working knowledge of Secure By Design Requirements.
Our Locations:
We are open to talk to talent across the country but our core hubs for this role are: Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester. This position will largely be based within the Southwest of England and Manchester, with an expectation that the successful candidate will be able to work from client sites three or more days a week.
