Responsibilities
As a US/UK tax assistant manager, you will be required to assist with the management of all aspects of the tax compliance process and the wider client relationship management under the support of a line manager. You will be required to assist on advisory projects involving various tax and residency queries whilst developing and maintaining client relationships.
Apart from the technical roles, you will be involved in the continuing building and development of a new US tax team within a Big 4 firm and expected to have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and constructively at a variety of levels with clients, their other professional advisors and your colleagues.
Experience with
- The compliance process of a varying complexity of US tax returns and the crossover with other jurisdictions.
- Reviewing US tax returns and communicating points back to the team.
- Delegating work to junior members of the team and having the ability to train and develop their understanding in both technical and soft skills.
- A solid understanding of domicile and residence issues; familiarity of the Substantial Presence Test and the Statutory Residence Test.
- Assisting with client management, building relationships, and managing work in progress with prompt billing and cash collection.
Requirements
- EA and ATT qualified
- Experience of preparing and reviewing US tax returns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The desire to take ownership of your career and development.
- Proficient in CCH Axcess.
We are open to talk to talent across the country but our core hubs for Private Client are: London, Canary Wharf, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol. This position will be based in London.
