KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions is seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (D365FO) Solutions Architect with extensive experience across all phases of large‑scale enterprise D365FO projects. This role requires a hands‑on approach and proven experience in end‑to‑end implementations, with a strong understanding of financial and supply‑chain processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will also have practical knowledge of interfacing and integration with Dynamics products. A demonstrable history of consultancy experience is essential, as the role will involve continuous interaction with clients, managing onshore consultants, and collaborating with both onshore and offshore development teams. Additionally, the role will require presales activities focused on D365FO functionality and the wider Microsoft platform, including contributing to proposal development and business development. The successful candidate will also provide leadership and mentoring to junior staff.
This position is crucial to the success of KPMG Microsoft Business Solutions’ customer delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations solutions. It presents a dynamic and exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing business area within an established and market‑leading global Big 4 firm.
Main Responsibilities
- Drive the delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance/SCM/Retail solutions following best practices.
- Own the solution for the Finance and/or SCM and/or Retail work stream, making design decisions and reviewing/creating solution documentation.
- Lead and manage a team of talented consultants with varying levels of expertise.
- Demonstrate an excellent understanding of D365FO functional capabilities.
- Manage functional interfaces and integrations with D365FO.
- Provide on‑site support as required, working with the on‑site engagement team and client team to gather requirements, determine expectations, and finalize deliverables.
- Oversee the gathering and documentation of functional requirements and conduct gap/fit analysis for the workstream.
- Ensure high‑quality project delivery of all deliverables produced, with experience in system and functional testing.
- Advise client and delivery team members on scope creep and use of change control processes.
- Deliver end‑user training to clients and colleagues as needed.
- Identify opportunities for upselling and demonstrate understanding of additional company capabilities.
- Respond to RFPs and RFQs as necessary.
- Exhibit strong consulting skills, including analytical thinking, written and verbal communication, teamwork, and presentation abilities.
- Solve complex problems with creative solutions.
- Meet and exceed customer expectations through business knowledge, skills, and behaviour.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by Project Leads and Directors.
- Identify business/project risks and mitigate or communicate as necessary.
- Ensure progress updates are communicated effectively to relevant parties.
Practice Responsibilities
- Stay informed about product roadmaps and future D365FO releases in the Finance and/or SCM and/or Retail areas, sharing relevant updates with team members.
- Identify practice development activities and contribute to their creation and delivery for colleagues.
- Play a strong role in further developing Finance and/or SCM and/or Retail capabilities within the D365FO product team.
- Promote the company’s values and culture.
- Lead and mentor colleagues, helping them grow in their roles.
- Manage performance and support the development of junior and offshore staff.
- Travel abroad when required.
- Always represent KPMG in a professional and positive manner.
- Ensure timely completion of internal processes and mandatory training.
- Carry out additional duties as directed by Directors and Leads.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the Information Security Policy regarding client and company information.
Experience and Background
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience working with Microsoft Dynamics AX and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O.
- Experience leading a team of at least 10 members.
- Excellent presentation and demonstration skills.
- Extensive experience with large‑scale ERP implementations.
- Ability to think clearly and calmly under pressure, exercising sound judgment and decision‑making skills.
- Experience in continually incorporating new technologies and software into one’s skillset.
- Pre‑sales experience is essential.
- Knowledge of business process mapping, modeling, and documentation.
- Experience mentoring junior, senior, and offshore staff.
Skills and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business & IT or a similar field.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Excellent ability to lead meetings and workshops, and confidently present to the C‑suite.
- Deep understanding of accounting processes, supply chain processes, principles, functionality, and systems.
- For Finance roles: Solid Finance background (ACA/ACCA/CIMA part‑qualified or qualified is desirable but not essential).
- For SCM roles: Experience in manufacturing, advanced warehousing, and project cost accounting.
- Microsoft Dynamics Finance and/or SCM and/or Retail certification (ideally the most current version).
- Strong knowledge of the following areas in an implementation project lifecycle: Requirements analysis and documentation, Business process mapping and modeling, Development testing and UAT, Data migration, Cut‑over activities, Go‑live support.
- Exceptional knowledge of best practices for D365FO.
- Proficiency in MS Office (primarily Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Visio is a plus).
- Strong understanding of Data Migration.
- Knowledge of Power Platform capabilities and Business Intelligence (BI).
- Familiarity with LCS and Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of integration tools and technologies.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Client‑centric approach with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Experience working with offshore teams and multi‑national projects.
