Private Equity is a key strategic growth channel for KPMG globally, and value creation and portfolio services represent a major opportunity for the firm. The wider team comprises specialists with deep expertise across Audit, Tax and Advisory, supporting Private Equity firms and portfolio companies throughout the transaction lifecycle, from transaction to transformation and through transaction again. This role is vital to bring the best of KPMG to those Private Equity clients; providing the business solutions they need.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Growth & Client Leadership: Lead the development and execution of growth strategies across a portfolio of priority Private Equity clients and their portfolio companies. This includes originating and qualifying opportunities, driving strategic pursuits, and securing profitable revenue across KPMG's non-audit service lines.
  • Relationship Building & Network Expansion: Build and strengthen relationships with Operating Partners, investment professionals and portfolio company management teams. Develop a deep understanding of client priorities and challenges, identifying opportunities for KPMG to support value creation, transactions and transformation programmes.
  • Account Strategy & Collaboration: Work closely with the UK Head of Private Equity, Client Lead Partners and senior capability leaders across Audit, Tax and Advisory. Play a central role in developing account strategies, coordinating client service teams and ensuring opportunities are effectively identified and converted.
  • Opportunity Development & Solution Design: Take client challenges or opportunities and bring together multidisciplinary teams to refine, shape and deliver compelling solutions. Leverage KPMG's breadth of expertise to create differentiated propositions that solve client issues and drive measurable value.
  • Relationship Management & Negotiation: Lead relationship strategies across key Private Equity firms and portfolio companies, identify relationship gaps and build strong networks across clients. Support commercial discussions, pursuit strategies, pricing and contract negotiations.
  • Proposition Development & Market Leadership: Identify, develop and refine key Private Equity propositions and bring them to market effectively. Maintain a strong understanding of Private Equity trends, portfolio company priorities, value creation strategies and KPMG's broader capabilities.
  • Sales Leadership & Coaching: Act as a role model for business development, demonstrating a disciplined and data-driven sales approach. Coach pursuit teams on effective sales strategies, opportunity management and client engagement to maximise win rates and revenue growth.
  • Brand Building & Market Engagement: Support the continued growth of KPMG's Private Equity brand through targeted marketing initiatives, events, thought leadership and market engagement. Build and maintain a strong external profile within the Private Equity community.

Additionally, this role will focus on the following areas:

  • Client Relationships: Build trusted relationships with Operating Partners at leading Private Equity firms. Establish strong relationships with portfolio company executives and management teams. Create and execute relationship maps and client engagement strategies. Identify emerging client challenges and opportunities and connect clients with the right KPMG expertise. Develop Board-level and C-suite relationships across client organisations. Lead and coordinate client events, ensuring measurable outcomes and opportunity generation. Identify, originate and convert opportunities across the transaction lifecycle. Drive cross-functional and multi-service line opportunities across Audit, Tax and Advisory. Develop strategic growth plans for key Private Equity clients and portfolio companies. Ensure rigorous pipeline management and opportunity tracking. Maximise revenue growth through effective pursuit management, pricing and negotiation. Lead sales activities aligned to account plans and growth objectives. Consistently identify white-space opportunities across client portfolios.
