The Programme Manager is responsible for managing one or more projects efficiently and effectively, ensuring delivery within agreed timescales, budgets, and requirements. This role includes leading other Project Managers and optimising the use of assigned staff and third parties. The Programme Manager ensures that all project activities conform to the company's quality management standards and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Plans and manages one or more projects, keeping the customer and senior management informed about progress.
- Compiles and agrees the project plan and Statements of Work with the client.
- Monitors progress against the project plan and budget, correcting or escalating issues as necessary.
- Maintains the Project Plan, including forecast completion dates and impact analysis.
- Tracks actual costs versus plan using Microsoft Project and internal systems.
- Ensures project objectives are met and monitors all individuals allocated to the project.
- Manages third parties involved in the project, ensuring deliverables meet quality standards and timelines.
- Assesses and reports Risks and Issues, proactively predicting and mitigating risks.
- Participates in client reporting sessions, including weekly progress reviews and monthly Steering Committee meetings.
- Plans and monitors validation and verification activities to ensure all requirements are met.
- Works closely with the Solution Architect to ensure the quality of deliverables prior to client release.
- Addresses project customer satisfaction issues and escalates feedback as necessary.
- Participates in resource management, utilisation, and capacity planning processes.
- Minimises non-billable resource utilisation and tracks it against the project budget.
- Contributes to the continuous improvement of project delivery methodology and mentors junior staff.
- May be involved in pre-sales activities, providing guidance on project planning and estimations.
Qualifications:
- Established Programme or Senior Project Manager with a proven track record in software implementation projects.
- Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects and third-party sub-contractors.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Microsoft Project, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Prince 2 Practitioner or certified APM professional preferred.
- Experienced in Agile project management with knowledge of tools like Jira, VSTS, TFS, and methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
- Specialism in ERP and/or CRM implementation projects, preferably using the Microsoft stack.
- Experience in delivering eCommerce projects, ideally with Magento and/or .Net or Java-based platforms.
- Experience in delivering online solutions with complex integration to business systems.
