Our team leads exciting projects across both public and private sectors principally focused on major capital and infrastructure portfolios in Transport, Energy, Water, Defence, Oil and Gas and Health. This is a fast-growing area offering many opportunities building upon a global capability in Asset Management where we provide:
- Asset Strategy and Transformation, including operating model design and transformation of asset management functions
- Asset Performance including investment planning, efficiency improvements in capital and operating expenditure, as well as asset resilience and benchmarking
- Digital asset management including asset performance and financial modelling and smart technology
- Investor assurance of asset performance and transaction due diligence support
The work is varied, fast-paced and often high-profile. We work with leaders in the public sector and industry partners on issues including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), resilience of the UK's utilities sector in the face of climate change and the future structure of the rail sector. We are looking for people with a passion for identifying, creating and delivering transformative solutions which help our public and private clients to deliver some of the largest and most complex infrastructure programmes in the UK, while maintaining delivery of key business and customer outcomes.
We are seeking an Assistant Manager to perform a critical role contributing to client workstreams, supporting business development and helping our team to grow and develop.
Responsibilities
- Project Delivery: Develop solutions to problems and collaborate with colleagues at all seniority levels across KPMG and in our client organisations. Produce client ready deliverables (slides, documents or spreadsheets) that exceed expectations. Take ownership of workstreams within engagements and/or contribute to larger workstreams, working closely with workstream leads. Liaise effectively and collaboratively with clients whilst working on engagements and act as an 'ambassador' for KPMG.
- Team Contribution: Contribute to the development of the team and foster a collaborative, inclusive and supportive team culture. Contribute to business development opportunities by helping with the generation of proposals and bid documents. Support the development of a continuous learning environment and keep up to date with technical best practice and developments. Be a professional with asset management experience, applying knowledge to a variety of sectors and engineering challenges; be proactive, able to work at pace and provide quality outputs that add value to clients. Demonstrate high levels of drive, ambition, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Be a good team player, collaborative and inclusive. Be comfortable handling ambiguity and changing client demands.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Some experience of working in or with Oil & Gas, Capital Project and/or Energy Transition clients.
- An understanding of the energy sector and its current challenges, specifically within the Oil & Gas sector across Europe and the Middle East.
- Knowledge of the Oil & Gas value chain and decarbonisation.
- Understanding of operating models and end-to-end processes for asset management and capital delivery for asset-intensive organisations.
- Broad understanding of the capital project lifecycle and implications for an Oil & Gas project.
- Strong analytical skills and/or strong written, communication and presentation skills.
- A good understanding of asset management principles.
- Assessing and understanding risks at both a business and an asset portfolio level.
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills.
