KPMG's Major Projects Advisory (MPA) team supports large-scale infrastructure and construction projects across the UK. The role is based in London, Birmingham or Manchester with occasional client travel and overseas trips.
Responsibilities
- Provide clear and concise advice to clients and manage client relationships.
- Assist with business development and support the delivery of MPA’s growth strategy.
- Draft and review briefing notes, recommendations and commercial reports.
- Support project financial management, including monthly payment applications.
- Maintain monthly activity schedules to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Manage junior colleagues, resource forecasting, work planning and timesheet analysis.
Qualifications & Experience
- Assistant Manager level experience in cost and commercial management, advisory or assurance on construction or infrastructure projects.
- Background in commercial management & quantity surveying, project controls, civil, mechanical or electrical engineering, or a specialist assurance role.
- Experience working in client or senior stakeholder-facing roles within highly political and confidential environments.
- Strong analytical skills to assess new data and identify causal factors.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction cost drivers, contractual mechanisms, and project performance issues.
- Experience drafting and reviewing commercial documents such as briefing notes and recommendations.
- Experience managing junior staff and coordinating work planning, annual leave tracking and timesheet analysis.
- Ability to support financial management, producing monthly payment applications and reporting.
