Please note: this is an on-site role based in Bermuda and relocation is required. The successful candidate will be expected to reside and work in Bermuda, a prominent global financial center offering an exceptional quality of life. Role and Responsibilities
- The Tax Manager will assist in the growth and development of our U.S. Tax practice, while supervising the preparation of U.S. income tax returns for clients, including corporations, partnerships, and specialized areas such as property and casualty insurance, international executive taxation, and hedge funds/private equity funds.
- You will oversee tax staff, manage projects, and contribute to client service delivery by ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- The role also involves maintaining strong technical knowledge of U.S. domestic and international tax rules relevant to our clients, building client relationships, and supporting the professional development of staff.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of U.S. tax experience in public accounting or a professional services environment, with a specialization in U.S. Tax matters.
- CPA designation (EA, LLM in Taxation, ACA, ACCA, or CA also considered).
- Membership in a recognized accountancy body is advantageous but not required.
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. income tax for corporations and partnerships; experience with insurance companies and investment funds is a plus.
- Familiarity with ASC 740 tax provision reviews preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- Proven ability to supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff.
- High attention to detail, with the ability to work both independently and within a small team.
- Comfortable working under pressure, with flexibility to manage overtime when required.
- Relocation to Bermuda (relocation assistance and work permit sponsorship provided).
