KPMG Advisory is looking for a Senior Manager with significant experience and proven track record to lead our growing Management Consulting practice, including, but not limited to, experience in managing a diverse portfolio of engagements and working with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver services to financial services industry clients. The role will include the following responsibilities:
- Management of client accounting related engagements, leading small teams.
- In some instances, leading Management Consulting Teams input into larger, multi-disciplinary teams.
- Provide clients with support in understanding and implementing new or complex accounting standards.
- Providing accounting support to transaction teams answering questions on technical issues and providing input for reports.
- Delivering operational and finance transformation initiatives, including skills in target operating model, workflow and process design.
- Development and delivery of accounting training to clients and internal teams.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with both clients and individuals.
- Collaborating with partners, senior managers and clients to influence strategy, balancing risk and client expectations.
- Contributing to practice and risk management, including thought leadership and business development activities.
- Building relationships with colleagues across multiple service lines to provide seamless integrated service.
- Identify and foster long-term relationships with new and existing target clients.
Candidates must have the following qualifications, skills and attributes:
- A Bachelor’s degree or above, and an accounting certification.
- 7 years of work experience at a public accounting firm in an audit or advisory role with management consulting experience.
- Experience in the Financial Services industry and an understanding of accounting and commercial issues facing this industry.
- Experience helping clients through large transformation programs.
- A grounding knowledge in IFRS and US GAAP.
- Strong project management skills.
- Strong presentation skills as the role requires regular internal and external presentations to be delivered as well as a proven ability to competently discuss related matters with clients.
- Excellent business development skills.
- Excellent client relationship skills.
- First class written and oral communication skills with the ability to produce and review complex financial reports and proposals.
- Exceptional people skills with the ability to work well with staff of all levels, including the ability to coach and develop team members.
- Be a strong team player with a proven ability to work effectively with senior management, ideally on complex cross border engagements with multi-jurisdictional teams.
- A self-motivated individual with the ability to multi-task on a daily basis and maintain high levels of drive and resilience.
- A high degree of competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required.
- A willingness and capacity to work overtime at short notice is essential as this is a highly demanding environment with very tight reporting deadlines.
