We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager to join our rapidly expanding Corporate Treasury Services team. Our team is a Global Centre of Excellence focused on serving the world's leading Treasury functions with their most complex business challenges. The team offers deep treasury expertise in financial products and markets, risk management, systems and technology, governance, valuation and accounting. We work closely with other high impact functions within KPMG such as Audit, Risk Consulting and Management Consulting to provide a wide range of treasury advisory services.
As a Senior Manager, you will liaise directly with your clients to deliver treasury advisory projects, drawing on your own expertise and identifying when additional input is required from other colleagues and subject matter experts across the business. Your role will include leading business development activities, including with alliance vendors and banks, contributing to the team’s growth and success. A member of the leadership team, you will be expected to promote and role model the department’s cultural values to your staff. You will lead teams and supervise the work of employees based in the UK and offshore locations. You will also have performance management responsibilities for a small number of staff.
Description of the role
- Work in teams delivering treasury transformation projects, system and technology projects, risk management and treasury advice, technical accounting advice (all non-audited entities only), and supporting statutory audits as a specialist.
- Undertaking reviews and implementations of Treasury strategies, policies, target operating models, cash management processes, and technology and systems.
- Led the selection, implementation and configuration of treasury systems and technology, including the development of AI tools and agents.
- Conducting risk management assessments including foreign exchange, interest rate, credit and commodities.
- Providing specialist support to external audit teams, including derivative valuations, hedge accounting, and financial instrument classifications.
- Conducting internal audits on treasury functions ranging from Global FTSE100 to Housing Associations and Charities, including benchmarking.
- Providing technical support on accounting and regulatory change projects such as IFRS 9, IFRS 18, and ISO 20022.
- Leading marketing initiatives, including presentations and thought leadership collateral.
- Supporting the business development of client proposition/offering, being active in the market, leading propositions, building strong relationships with clients, vendors and banking partners.
- Performance managing junior team members, ensuring that you are having rich development conversations that supports their growth and career progression.
- Actively contributing to the Treasury and AAS strategies, team management and other non-delivery aspects of the role.
You will hold an in-date relevant professional qualification to apply up to date knowledge and expertise whilst undertaking your day to day duties. Other responsibilities will typically include accountability for leading teams; providing technical, risk & compliance management; operational and quality management support; overseeing project management, budgeting and planning, senior stakeholder management, and analysis and delivery of quality reports; taking part in tenders or proposals; and some performance management responsibilities. Due to the nature of the position, you may be working at/visiting a client site and/or other KPMG offices.
The person
- Experience working in a Corporate Treasury function with good technical knowledge of financial instruments, risk management, treasury strategies, systems, governance and controls.
- Experience working within a treasury or accounting advisory function of a professional services firm/corporate business sector.
- Experience leading marketing propositions around treasury specialist topics relevant to our clients and audited entities.
- Experience with treasury technology solutions and systems, including AI.
- Technical knowledge of IAS 39 and IFRS 9 standards, and their practical application.
- Willingness to travel in order to grow the global practice and deliver international projects.
- Experience of managing teams, coaching and mentoring junior staff.
- Proven track record of managing and delivering high quality, complex projects with stakeholder deliverables.
- Business development experience with new and existing clients.
