KPMG Business Services Apprenticeship programme

When people across the firm need support, advice and expertise, they turn to KPMG Business Services. From HR to Finance, Business Support and Facilities to Marketing, we’re at the heart of the organisation’s success – providing vital support to KPMG teams and helping them to deliver the best possible service to clients. There’s a wealth of variety and opportunity within KBS, which makes it an ideal place to start an apprenticeship. You’ll thrive, be empowered to grow and do work that really matters.

Life as a KBS apprentice

As an apprentice, you will undertake a variety of administrative tasks to support KPMG colleagues. You’ll also learn how we use data and reporting that are essential to optimising performance. Throughout your apprenticeship you’ll be part of Administration Services KPMG (ASK), where specific tasks might include anything from producing documents to organising travel or supporting recruitment initiatives. In the second year, you may join one of the other operational teams, where there will be opportunities to develop specialist skills and knowledge.

You’ll be based in either Birmingham or Leeds, spending two days each week in the office. We value the learning that you can get from collaborating closely with colleagues in person but also offer the flexibility to work from home on the other days.

Your future

At the end of the apprenticeship, our structured training will have helped you build a range of relevant skills to prepare you for a career in business services. You’ll also have a professional qualification that’s recognised widely (a Business Administration Level 3) and hands-on experience within one of the world’s leading professional services firms.

Qualifications: Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship

  • 5 GCSEs* at A* – C or at 4 – 9 (inc. English Language and Maths), or for Scotland 5 Standard Grades at Grades A – C (inc. English Language and Maths)

As part of your application, you will be given the opportunity to share any extenuating circumstances that may have impacted your GCSE (or equivalent) outcomes. Supplying us with this information will not negatively impact your application, but it may provide a positive uplift on your academic achievements. You can also choose to opt out of sharing it. Throughout the recruitment process we will be looking to learn more about your strengths. To be successful on this programme, you will be required to demonstrate the strengths that we look for in our apprentices at KPMG.

Training and development

In addition as part of your KPMG Business Services Apprenticeship you will complete the Business Administration Level 3, which not only introduces you to the principles of business administration, but also delves into project management, ICT, communication and performance management.

The KPMG Business Services Apprenticeship uses innovative technology and is delivered via a blend of Online Classroom Live and Recorded courses plus in-centre classroom courses. This blended approach enables you to study and digest the content at a pace suited to your learning style, but ensures all are at the right technical level at every stage of the qualification. The structure of the programme spreads the building of skills and behaviours over the lifetime of 15 month apprenticeship programme qualification so that you are able to build up your knowledge ready for the End Point Assessment and can continuously apply what you are learning to your workplace experience through your apprenticeship skills and behaviours and off-the-job (OTJ) training.

Outside of the 15 month apprenticeship qualification you will spend the remaining nine months of your programme consolidating and applying your learning, working in the business. You will have wrap around support which consists of dedicated professional coaches, online portal content and live and recorded additional study sessions, which means there is a form of support for your every need.
